Movie Time: “This Film Is Not Yet Rated”

27 Sep

To continue our theme of censorship awareness in America for BANNED BOOK WEEK, we’ll be watching This Film Is Not Yet Rated and have lively discussion with popcorn.  The film is “an independent documentary film about the Motion Picture Association of America’s rating system and its effect on American culture” (wikipedia.org).

We’ll be meeting in Turlington Plaza at the Potato on Wednesday, Sept 29th at 7:00pm.  You can RSVP on Facebook here.  We’ll supply the popcorn, but I suggest you bring some drinks to wash down that delicious yet salty treat.  Hope to see you guys there!

Loved this movie! When you think of documentaries, you think of boring, stodgy people talking about something random you’ve never heard of before. But this film really helped me realize what some of my favorite films had to go through to even make it to me in the theater. Super funny, Private Eye Becky was probably my favorite person in it. A real eye-opener when it comes to movies and censorship.
